
Impressionist paintings. You go through the galleries in MoMA and you find that the golden rule in Modern art is pretty simple. Do not draw anything that resembles anything physically present. Put all kinds of paints on the canvas and make it look like a mixture of colours with no visible purpose, and you shall be hailed as a revolutionary artist. On the other hand, you paint a beautiful bridge on a calm river, people will make fun of you and throw stones at you... this was the essence of rennaissance and the Impressionist period
